The most challenging and dedicated profession is the medical science where one has to have complete involvement and patience in treating patients and recovering them from diseases. A physician is one who treats common diseases like fever, cold, cough and pain. One has to undergo four years of studies to become a general physician. A general physician learns the basic subjects like pharmacology, pathology, biochemistry, microbiology and the basics of using all the latest equipments used for surgery. A physician has to be licensed before he can start his job. License is an evidence for the public that the particular person has completed his medical education and the training programs successfully.

After four years of studies as a physician, one can take up some specialization course that interests him for example oncology is a course that deals with cancerous diseases. One can qualify as an oncologist by taking some entrance examinations that will qualify them to study in any of the universities. After the completion of his higher studies one becomes qualified as a physician oncologist. An oncologist is one who examines and treats common cancerous diseases like breast cancer, lung cancer and stomach cancer.

A physician oncologist examines the patients by examining him for symptoms like fever, vomiting, loss of appetite and pain. Then he palpates the tumor and checks if the tumor is benign or malignant. On palpation, if the tumor appears to be benign then the physician advises the patient to go for the confirmatory tests like blood tests, urine test, scan, and X ray. If the presence of cancerous tissue is detected in these confirmatory tests then the physician discusses the condition of the patient with other senior physicians and explains the treatment options to his patients. He convinces the patient about the intensity of the disease and suggests him for the best treatment.
